Teams reject forced pit-stop proposal

Formula 1 teams have rejected a proposal to force drivers to make at least two pit-stops at each Grand Prix.

FIA President Jean Todt and Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone had initially discussed the idea in Abu Dhabi, with tyre supplier Pirelli eager to avoid a repeat of the failures it suffered at the British Grand Prix.

But when it was highlighted at the latest meeting of the Formula 1 Sporting Group and Commission, it received no support from teams, who were concerned about artificial strategies and similar race scenarios.
