The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team is the second team to present its 2008 championship contender. The Woking based team presented the MP4-23 to the invited media in the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart, Germany.
Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Daimler Board, and Ron Dennis, Chairman and CEO of the McLaren Group, welcomed all the guests to the official presentation, with Lewis Hamilton, who celebrates his 23rd birthday today, and Heikki Kovalainen joined on stage by Pedro de la Rosa and fellow test driver Gary Paffett to unveil the MP4-23.
2007 was a difficult year for the Woking-based McLaren outfit, the team achieved so much but ultimately failed to secure either the drivers or constructors championship.
It’s the action on the track not the court room that concerns us now, so, after one of the closest seasons in Formula One history for 2007, the real excitement now revolves around how the teams will compare for the 2008 season.
